Countdown to winter in Australia
Australian winter arrives in June. Autumn is the time to act. Installing a wood heater now means your flue is commissioned, your wood is ordered, and your home is warm the moment the cold snap hits.

Get ready before winter
Why install before winter
Installers are in high demand once the cold arrives. Book in autumn to get your preferred tradesperson, avoid delays, and have the stove running before you need it. Many dealers report lead times of 6 to 8 weeks at peak season.

The Parkray Aspect Eco comes in three sizes: the compact Aspect 5, the mid-range Aspect 8, and the large-space Aspect 14. Each is tested to Australian standards and exceeds the 2030 emission requirements.

Every authorised Hunter Stoves dealer has working models on display and can advise on flue configuration, hearth requirements, and what suits your room. In-person advice is always the best starting point.

Installing a wood heater is only part of the picture. These steps will make sure everything is ready when the temperature drops.
- 01
Book a chimney inspection or sweep
If you are adding to an existing flue, have it inspected and swept before installation. A licensed chimney sweep can identify liner damage, bird nests, or buildup that would restrict draw or create a fire hazard.
- 02
Order seasoned hardwood early
Wood heaters burn best on seasoned hardwood with moisture content below 20 percent. Green or wet wood produces far more smoke and deposits creosote in the flue. Order your first load well before June to give it time to rest if needed.
- 03
Check your hearth clearances
The Aspect Eco range requires specific clearances to combustible materials. Your installer will confirm these, but reviewing the space before they arrive speeds up the job and avoids surprises.
- 04
Choose your installation configuration
The Aspect Eco ships with standard legs. Optional accessories include low and high plinth stands, bench bases, and a long bench. Decide on your preferred configuration before ordering so your dealer can include it in the quote.
- 05
Consider a direct air kit for modern homes
Well-insulated, draught-proofed homes benefit from a direct air kit, which draws combustion air from outside rather than depleting room air. Your dealer can assess whether your home needs one.
