How we handle your information

Hunter Stoves Australia is the trading name of Dragon Wholesaling Pty Ltd (ABN 98 051 556 748). This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what choices you have. It is written to align with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

We collect personal information in three ways:

Forms you submit. When you request a quote, send us a message, register a product, or subscribe to our newsletter, we collect the details you provide. Typically that is your name, email address, phone number, postcode, and the message you wrote.
Automatic technical information. Every page request leaves standard server logs that include your IP address, browser, device type, referring URL and pages you visited. We use this to keep the site working and to understand traffic patterns.
Analytics and advertising cookies. If you accept them, cookies set by Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel record anonymous usage data so we can measure which pages help people find a dealer, and to retarget visitors with relevant ads.

Why we collect it

We use your information for these purposes only:

To respond to your enquiry and forward it to the nearest authorised dealer.
To process warranty registrations and product support requests.
To send you the marketing emails you have signed up for, and only those.
To improve the website, fix bugs, and decide what content is useful.
To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

We will never sell your personal information. We will not use it for any purpose you have not consented to.

Who we share it with

We work with a small number of vendors to operate the website and email:

Cloudflare (USA) hosts the website and runs the form-handling functions.
Resend (USA) sends form-submission emails to our team and delivers our newsletter.
Microsoft 365 hosts our team email inboxes (info@hunterstoves.com.au).
Zoho Forms processes product warranty registrations.
Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager provide aggregate website analytics.
Meta (Facebook) provides the Meta Pixel for advertising measurement.
Cloudflare Turnstile protects forms from automated abuse.

We also forward quote requests to the authorised Hunter Stoves dealer nearest your postcode. Once received, that dealer becomes responsible for handling your information under their own privacy practices.

How we protect it

Forms submit over HTTPS. Sensitive information is never logged or stored beyond what is needed to deliver the email. We do not store credit card details, identification documents or passwords. Our vendors are bound by their own security and privacy practices and, where relevant, applicable data-protection laws.

How long we keep it

Form submissions are kept for as long as our team needs to handle the enquiry and any reasonable follow-up, typically up to 24 months. Newsletter subscriber data is kept until you unsubscribe, which you can do from the link in every email. Analytics data is retained per the default settings of each vendor.

Your choices

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
You can ask us to correct anything that is wrong, or delete it.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the link in every email.
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking with the Google opt-out browser add-on.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some site features may not work as well.

Children

This website is intended for an adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the website, vendors or law changes. Updates appear here. The "last reviewed" date at the top reflects the most recent change.
